Welcome to the Galápagos Explorer
Hello, my name is Denise and I am The Galápagos Explorer. I am a Travel Advisor and Adventure Creator specialising in tours of the Galápagos Islands and Ecuador. Travel is my passion and since my first big adventure to Sri Lanka almost 20 years ago, I have been lucky enough to travel to over 35 countries. In the many trips I have taken I have developed a love of wildlife and nature, from hiking into the mountains to swimming under the sea. Always keen to explore new cultures and experiences, my travels have led me to learn skills such as speaking Spanish, scuba diving and photography.
ISLAND SPOTLIGHT: ISLA BARTOLOMÉ
Bartolomé is one of my favourite islands to visit when in the Galápagos. It’s a must see stop for cruise ships as well as a popular day trip from Santa Cruz due it’s close location. (It’s only about an hour by boat.) Despite being relatively small in size it has one of the most iconic views in the Galápagos.
WILDLIFE FOCUS: BLUE-FOOTED BOOBY
The Blue-footed Booby is one of my favourite sea birds to be found in the Galapagos. They are easily identifiable by their bright blue feet (the clue is in the name!). Their plumage is brown on top, with a white under belly and slightly darker brown wings.
